Curio Cabinet part 2.

Because I am a child of the 80's, I love all this stuff!

My attempt to make it presentable and stylish is to put it in an antique federal cabinet with a mercury glass back.
The top holds part of my collection of paris porcelain reticulated compotes.

I love this owl plate. Its actualy a majolica compote.

The chest and compote are recent finds. Every
August I have an urge for the Christmas season.

The monkey pattern on this Robert Allen fabric is beautiful.

I keep watching Martha's Christmas speacial from 1990.
This 9 drawer chest is amazing!
Holds all my craft equipment.

Curio Cabinet

In the January 2003 issue of MSL on page 54 there is a great article on curio cabinets. In my aunts house as long as I can remember there was and still is a huge antique corner cupboard filled with all kinds of stuff. From antique dolls to chein toy banks and wind up animals.
To house my collection of Lara Croft I have it in a large 2 door china cabinet. I know Martha displayed Steiff animals.I don't know how she would feel about molded plastic, But mixed with antique french porcelain it works in my room.
It's a lot to dust and would look excessive, but somehow having it in a cabinet with doors makes it art.At least to me.

Bathroom Reno..

My bathroom or en suite is almost done.I could NEVER be a contractor.I much rather deal with finished spaces than see bleak messes like this.
Plumbing in and water hook-up.
Sink hook up.
Green Board finally up.
Dusty wall mud.
So much nicer!!

Wild Flowers.

Sweet peas are blooming and Under 5 dollars worth of wildflowers.

New eyes in my hare tureens.

The glass eyes in my Pillivuyt tureens got scuffed up.So I replaced them with new eyes.The old eyes screw right out.
I will replace them all to have medium brown eyes.
